Donations to the PRUH Home Hamper scheme by the Bromley Cubs

The Friends were approached by Cub and Scout leader  Rebecca Wray  from the 4th Bromley Cubs which meet at Holy Trinity Church, Bromley. They wished to help the Hospital as part of their community badge. Our Chair Pauline Allard went to speak to the cubs at their meeting on 24th January explaining briefly the work of The Friends of the Princess Royal University Hospital and suggesting they may like to collect tins or packets of  food which could be used for the Kings Hamper which are given to patients on discharge if they have  no one to get provisions in for them. Another suggestion was for chocolate and bottles or cartons of soft drinks to be used at the proposed Friends of the PRUH Easter Bottle and Chocolate Tombola.

The photographs show the result of the collection when Pauline and committee member Leigh Bozdan  returned to their meeting on  Friday February 14th. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the response and would like to thank Rebecca , the other leaders and all parents and extended family for their generosity and the enthusiasm showed by all the cubs for the project. The food went into the Hospital on the Monday. They also donated some knitted blankets and small blankets for the premature baby unit.

Unfortunately due to the covid-19 pandemic we have had to cancel our Easter Tombola  so any chocolate with a sell by date before July has been given to the Staff Hub at the Hospital which is supporting staff during this crisis.
